Install Raptor in the Recommended Normal Setup

The recommended, normal, setup of Raptor involves the Raptor ICA being installed on each server you wish to monitor, and the Raptor Server components (the MUA and the Web interface) being installed together on a separate server.

1. Installing

1.1 Installing the Server Components

The first step is to install both the MUA and Web packages. Instructions are available for doing this on Linux or on Windows. Follow these instructions then come back here and continue to 1.2...

1.2 Installing the ICA

The next step is to install the ICA package on each service you wish to monitor. Instructions are also available for doing this on Linux or on Windows. Follow these instructions then come back here and continue to 2...

2. Configuring

Now that you have the server components (MUA/Web) installed on one server, and the ICA on another, they must be configured to communicate with each other. To do this, follow these instructions - Configure the ICA and MUA to communicate.

3. Enjoy!
